Abstract Faces

Size Matters

There are literally no words to describe how excited I was to finally use my MoYou London festive plate. I swear I was subconsciously brewing some Christmas nail art ideas since June and most of them involved this plate. Last year I used it a lot and I was really looking forward to it this year. It was only when I actually got it out this morning that I discovered one *tiny* problem. Last year my nails were half the length of what they are now and this is not an XL plate....To all of you who are new to stamping it basically means the stamps are too small and don't cover my entire nail bed. Ugh, seriously?!

I didn't give up so easily though. Hell, I was waiting a year to use this bloody plate! I envisioned this design to be kind of like a Christmas french but I'm not sure it can quite pass as that! Either way I like it and I think it's simple but festive. Don't be fooled though, it took a ridiculous amount of time to look this 'simple'. I suppose I brought it on myself when I decided to create decals.

The base of this design is Rimmel Double Decker Red that I found in my November Nailbox. It doesn't look it in the bottle but this colour is really in your face and I actually like it! I then used Barry M Chai, Konad white stamping polish and MoYou London Festive 06 for the decals.

What do you think? To all you stampoholics out there, any ideas on how to use a plate that's 'too small'?

Thanks for reading! x
