Metallic Hearts for Valentine's Day

Man, I seriously admire everyone who dares to use full nail stencils. If you thought you just stick it on your nails and paint it over to reveal a cool pattern then well, TECHNICALLY, you'd be right, but there's a lot more to it! My boyfriend got me a load of stencils for Christmas and I (very naively) thought I'd leave them alone until I have no time on my hands to do anything free hand. Well, that was stupid!

I mean, the design came out fine and in places where the polish leaked a bit I don't think I can blame the stencils since I've never used them before. I also followed all the advice I got from my fellow nail artists on social media. Still, my curved nails were killing me! I cut the stencil a little bit to fit better but next time I need to figure out exactly WHERE to cut it.

The heart stencils are from shesellsseashells.co.uk and I think they are perfect for Valentine's Day! I used them on my inxed and middle finger and hand painted the rest. For the hearts I used a few of Models Own Chrome polishes, Chrome Rose, Chrome Mauve and Chrome Blue. I am quite happy with my first try but then I had advice so I KINDA knew what I was doing. How do people without help do it?!

  1. Oh, this is not an encouragement for me...I am going to use the first time soon some stencils I received :) I hope I will manage to do at least half as beautiful and neat looking nail art as you did!

    1. I'm sure you'll be fine Andrea! I think for me it was that all the nail tutorials make it seems so simple when it was actually a bit tricky for me ><
