Itsy Nails London | Swatches, Nail Art and Review

How do you feel about trying out new brands? I'm kinda torn. On one hand I want to be sceptical so I don't get my hopes up and end up being disappointed. At the same time I can't help but feel excited about trying out new goodies from the nail world! After all I am a self confessed nail addict! Still, I have tried and tested a fair few nail polishes since I've started this blog and most of them were good but I have to admit it's been a while since I was this impressed by a nail polish! I'm talking about a new brand on the block, Itsy Nails London.

itsy nails london 5free cruelty free review furiousfiler

Itsy Nails London offers a range of gel effect nail polish that are 5 free and cruelty free. A proof that a great quality nail polish can be produced without nasty toxins and testing on animals! Today I want to show you a few shades from their Spring Collection and a bit of nail art. Let's have a look.

itsy nails cosi ti amo swatch blue cornflower

First up is my favourite! This is Cosi Ti Amo* and it's a gorgeous cornflower blue. As it's a rather light shade you'd think it might be a bit tricky to apply but it glides on like a dream. It's very opaque and here I'm wearing 2 coats. I love the tiny hint of violet in this, it makes this one so different.

You may know by now that I am not a fan of orange and that's putting it mildly! Therefore No Fear* being a carrot kind of shade would not be my first choice but I can't deny that it's very creamy. There were no patches but I did end up applying 3 coats. The formula was lovely and I think it's insane for a polish this bright to be this vibrant without a white base.

Next up its this juicy Green With Envy*. It's a gorgeous creamy warm green. It's quite bright but it's not an in your face kinda shade. Here I'm wearing 2 coats for a perfect coverage.

No spring collection can be complete without a pink polish! This is Bohemian Gypsy* and it's a slightly dusty pink. Again, perfect formula and perfect coverage in 2 coats. I really like how this one looks on my skin tone, very flattering!

Time for some nail art. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw Green With Envy* was 'juicy'. And I thought to myself, what's green and juicy? A kiwi! I tried a kiwi design before with no luck but I think this one is not too bad! Although...I showed it to my boyfriend's parents the other day and they were like, what are these? Oh, I see, they're spiders! So yeah, if you see spiders too then:
a) please use your imagination
b) this clearly is a very poor attempt at a fruit design!
c) are fruit designs the new florals aka my nail art nemesis?!

vintage houndstooth decals stamping pastel rhinestones sweet

I kinda felt like the blue and pink polishes were made for each other so I decided to create a vintage design with a (sweet) twist. I used MoYou London Pro XL 07 plate for the houndstooth stamp and portrait decal. I'm quite pleased with it although I was too impatient (what a surprise) and applied the decal when my polish was still very wet so I ended up with a few bubbles. Ah well, I hope you can just look past that!

I am so impressed with every single polish I've tested. I was seriously shocked at how opaque they were and they dried really fast. The square brush is also worth mentioning as I found it really thick and 'glossy' and I felt like that helped with the streak free application. Although these were sent to me for a review I would happily go out of my way to buy them.

Each bottle retails at £5.99 and contains 11 ml of polish. You can shop for the whole Itsy Nails London range here. They offer 10% off your first order and free UK delivery for orders over £10 and free international delivery for orders over £20.

Have you tried these before? What do you think about my designs? And most importantly, do I need to add fruit nail art to my 'don't try again for the sake of your sanity' folder?! See you soon xx

  3. Bohemian Gypsy is definitely my favourite colour. Not a great fan of pinks but this dusky one is great. Your Kiwi is certainly a statement. I love it.
