MeeBox Look Book | Swatches, Nail Art and Review

meebox look book review subscription box

Ever wanted to have a manicure straight from the catwalk? Well now you can! If you got your hands on the newest MeeBox, that is.

This time the UK's favourite nail subscription box teamed up with an award winning nail technician, Metta Francis (aka Nails By Mets) to bring you everything you need to recreate this season's hottest nail looks. Metta is no stranger to fashion shows (I was lucky to assist her on one) so who better to curate a box inspired by the most recent trends? This month's edit consists of three nail polishes and three nail related products. The box is a mixture of metallics, soft shades and lots of sparkle and screams fun! Let's start with the swatches.

ANNIKA POOL PARTY

Such a perfect shade for Spring! This light blue was opaque in three coats. You could maybe get away with two thicker ones but I always do super thin coats because I hate the 'gloopy' look. I don't think I mentioned it before but Annika brushes are one of my faves. I really like the material the bristles are made from and I can get a perfect cuticle line with (just about) no clean up.

IZ BEAUTY OF LONDON BALL GOWN

Let's face it, the rose gold trend isn't going anywhere, no matter the season! Ball Gown is pretty much a one coater. Here I'm wearing two, because I think it helps with brush stroke marks. I avoided a top coat as I found it turned the polish a little bit glittery.

NCLA LET'S GO PARTY

NCLA LET'S GO PARTY PURPLE GLITTER SWATCH

Now, this is the real star of the show! This purple glitter is one of the four new shades from the She's a Doll collection and it's blingy as hell! For a glitter polish the formula is really good and the application is even. It was opaque in three coats. It dries to a slightly textured finish so I applied a top coat to smooth it out.

LOOSE GLITTER NAOMI & CLAUDIA

The extras this month included two pots of loose glitter. Both came in glass pots and both have slightly different finishes. Claudia is an almost see through orange glitter that leans towards green depending on the light. It gives a kind of glimmering mermaid or pixelated look. Naomi is a midnight blue, full coverage glitter of a textured finish. I used one of them for nail art at the end of this post and no, it's not the orange one. I know, shocking!

THE GRAPE ESCAPE ACETONE FREE NAIL POLISH REMOVER

This is the second time MeeBox own nail polish remover has featured in the box. It's grape and raspberry scented and it really lingers on even after washing your hands. The product is also acetone free. I covered it in a bit more detail in this post.

BLINGY NAIL ART

Right guys, it's time for some nail art! If you think this looks like I painted a base coat on and shoved my nails into the glitter pot...then you would be right! As you can see, the coverage is very good and I just pressed a little bit more glitter on with my fingers if I spotted any gaps. Clean up was really not for the impatient ones (aka ME) but I got there in the end! I sealed the design (or should I just say glitter?) with two layers of top coat. The sparkle was off the chain!

What did you guys think of the box? I really love the different trends that Metta has drawn from (and the amount of glitter) so it's a thumbs up from me! The next theme is 'Donuts' and I don't want to let my imagination run TOO wild so I'm thinking pastels? Or colourful sprinkles? An actual donut? I wouldn't mind! Secure your box here.
