As you can see, these ladies are obviously up to date on the latest beauty trends such as, a nude lip and contour. Possibly even lip fillers. With the BAFTAS around the corner I took the inspiration from the shape of the award to create these (very glamorous) faces on my nails.
The BAFTAS, for those of you who don't know, are the British Academy Film Awards taking place annually in the UK and Los Angeles. The BAFTAS award trophy is a bronze mask. Recently, I have spotted a number of nail designs featuring abstract face outlines so I decided to combine it with the mask to create my own version of this trend.
As my base I used one of my favourite nudes, Barry M Skinny Dip. I then painted the faces using a black, opaque polish and a liner brush. I haven't freehanded anything in what seems like a very long time so it was nice to see that I can, in fact, still do it!

I then added a few strategically placed splashes of a darker nude, almost to create dimension and to make the design a little bit more feminine. I used Barry M Down To Earth* (RRP 3.99), which is a really nice warm nude with a great formula. No surprise there from Barry M! The polish is a part of the new Green Origin collection, which is made from 70% natural ingredients to produce a more environmentally friendly product.
What do you guys think of this design? Will you be watching the BAFTAS on Sunday? I love watching awards ceremonies and I will definitely be spying all the fabulous nail sets on the red carpet!
That is one cool manicure! :-D
