Why is everyone going crazy for New Year's Eve, it's just another night for gods sake! Judging by that statement how old would you guess I am? Probably something in a region of 105? Give or take a few years? It probably wouldn't have crossed your mind I'm in my early twenties. The truth is I decided to spend holidays in my home village and there isn't much going on here. Therefore the only inkling of a party is on my nails..and another one is chilling in my fridge. So no need to tell you to have a smashing night because whatever you're doing tonight you're deffo having more fun then me. All I can say is make sure you have a glass/gallon of water by your bed the next morning and don't burn your neighbour's front lawn with your fireworks. Gardens and lawns are a touchy subject for Brits.
Starry night
On New Year's Eve everybody's eyes are fixed on the skies. No wonder, a starry sky on a (hopefully) cloudless night is an AMAZING sight...and you probably focus mostly on the fireworks. If that's the case you are seriously missing out! I was lucky enough to be raised in the countryside but now I live in a city and really miss the night views! I didn't really feel like party nails after all the Crimbo festivities so here is a pinky starry night design instead.
Winter is here!
That means snow, cold and cute wintery designs. Well there's no snow, it's 10°C in December...I guess it's just wintery design then so we don't forget what winter should or used to look like in mid latitudes. I decided to go for snow and some not so mid latitudes penguins. So maybe not your typical winter sights, definitely not the penguins but cute none the less.
I'm dreaming of a matte Christmas
For whatever reason I decided to experiment with matte top coat and glitter. I tried a few options and I have to say I really like the 3D effect. Matte top coat in general is amazing! I love how different your nails look and how soft they are to touch. But do I want to go matte for Christmas? What about the usual glitz, shine and sparkle stuff? Well I thought about it, tried matte, saw the effect and decided: sod it! So I give to you a very rebellious matte Crimbo nails.
Glam Christmas
I think there is something very luxurious about matching black with gold. Black nail varnish is one of my favourites. I know a lot of people aka my entire family sees it as sad and morbid but I think it's very chic, especially when very glossy or paired with gold. I love all the 'typical' Christmas colours as you will see in the course of this month but recently I really wanted something glam on my nails. So I decided to incorporate black into my Christmas design and I must say I kinda like it!
Christmas Time!
It's December and I hope it's acceptable to talk christmas stuff. I mean I'm sure coca-cola adverts were aired like 2 weeks ago and we all know what THAT means! I've been dying to do christmas nails for ages so I'm buzzing. I have a whole month of crimbo nails coming up for you so hope you are as excided as I am!
First up are my christmas jumper inspired nails:

Missing the Sun
Finally after days of fog, rain and cold today's weather is actually not bad! It's sunny and sky's clear...well the tiny bit of sky I can see from my AMAZINGLY situated flat. Anyway my point is the weather was seriously bringing me down and today it feels like spring so I decided to do a spring design featuring pinky glitter and birds.
Practice Your Patience. WHAT?!!?
I don't know what colour do you associate with autumn but for me it's violet or purple. Which also happen to be my favourite colours in everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. Whenever I'm having a day off painting nails (!) or don't feel like bothering with a design (!) I put one colour (!) on my nails and it's always purple. But don't worry today is not one of those days. I finally decided to use my favourite colours in my design. I mean honestly if you saw my varnishes case you'd know I have A LOT of purple there. So imagine my joy to finally use them! That is until I realised most have gone dry...so I got...frustrated, So you're thinking just go buy some more, problem solved! And you're right...but that means I can't do my nails right now, right this second and did you come across my blog name? Patience is not a virtue in my book. In fact, it doesn't exist!
Still, I used whatever I could salvage out of my 35734672543533435 purple/pinky/violet varnishes and this is the result!
Summer's Over
Noooo! I still feel like flowers and bright colours and refuse to let go...for now anyway. So screw it, here are some very 'unautumny' daisy flowers. I know, I am SUCH a rebel.
For base I used Orly Harmonious Mess. To paint the flowers I find it is best to use a runny varnish. I used french mani type but it wasn't very visible on the dark base but Natural Collection Nail Top Whitener did a great job. I then used the thinnest longish brush to create daisy petals. I waited for it to dry (otherwise it turns into a right mess) and repeated the process to make the flowers look a bit thicker. For yellow dots I used Seche Perfectly Poised and the biggest dotting tool and finished it off with a clear top coat.
Scales
On a scale from 1 to 10 I'm not sure how much I like these nails I'm about to show you. I mean ok they are not THAT bad and I love the colours I chose to do ombre but..I don't know! Just one of these days I suppose but hey I'm putting it out there right now before I change my mind and these nails will join an already huge file of designs that didn't quite make the cut.
I'm using an ombre technique on all of my nails and then paint the scales. I used Rimmel 873 Breakfast In Bed/Collection 10 Peacock Green and Golden Rose Color Rich 71/Collection 18 Going For Gold to create ombre effect. The scales were made using a semi-long thin brush and the lighter option from the ombre combo followed by top coat and TA DAH!

Little Mermaid
During summer time I love wearing rich or matte colours. But not glitter. Never glitter. So this is my latest design and you guessed it... it's glitter with sparkles topped with more glitter :D
For some reason I don't do glitter or even shimmer is rare for me. Maybe it's because it's a bit hard to take off and it gets absolutely everywhere? I don't know. Either way I realised I'm seriously missing out! So I decided to stock up on some nice glitter/shimmer varnishes and have a few designs in mind which I'll be sharing with you over the next few days:)
Scribbles Scribbles...
Isn't typing amazing? Thanks to typing no one literate has a problem reading this post not to mention seeing my embarrassingly bad handwriting. Times when I did calligraphy at school are long gone. If I was however using my hand writing it would resemble something like this:
However for this look I used MoYou London stamping plates. I know, I OBVIOUSLY almost fooled you.
Retro cherries and first world problems
Today a tragedy has happened. It's late, all shops are closed and my nail varnish remover is finished! And now I don't know what to do with myself. That's how sad my life's got recently ;) I couldn't do any design in case it goes wrong and let's face it, it would. So today I'm wearing one nail varnish. On all nails. In one colour. On ALL NAILS. But hey, let's look at the positives! ....
Is animal print still 'a thing'
Who can tell nowadays?! Fashion has gone mad. But at the same time there is a certain freedom feel to it. I feel I can put whatever I want on my back and claim it's 'the new thing'...right? So going by my way of thinking (here goes nothing): Animal print is a thing! Or is STILL a thing...or IS IT?! Either way it has made its appearance on my nails today. Finding the right brush and black varnish with the right consistency was driving me INSANE. The short brushes I saw being used in tutorials didn't work for me. After many attempts and deep breaths (apparently helps you cool down...DOES IT NOW?!) this is what I ended up with.
Feeling cute?
Who makes a detailed list of varnishes when going shopping hands up? No? Just me? So THAT is why I got odd looks then, right....?! I went to my local cosmetic store with a detailed list of varnishes I need and by detailed list I mean something like 'minty green with hints of blue that will go with X design but different than X'. That shop assistant sure looked at me like I was crazy. I've been trying to get hold of a nice creamy beige nail varnish but I've ended up with pinky, peachy and browny ones. Oh no! I've got more varnishes to use! The tragedy :D
Hello virtual world!
Finally my first post! Writing a blog has only been on my mind for a short while but because I'm so impatient I feel like it's been AGES! So painting nails is not new to me although only recently I have been obsessed with nail art to the point where plain nails are just not acceptable anymore! And frankly nor is me going nuts when a design goes wrong. But I make myself believe that surely EVERY nail art blogger has these moments...right? RIGHT?!

The reason I wanted to start this blog is simple. I used to take pics of my nails with my phone so that if I ever want to do that particular design again I won't forget what it looked like :D I got to admit people's Ohhh's and Ahh's played a small part too. So I thought why not share this small hobby with everyone and maybe learn some new tricks myself.
I take inspiration from everyday life but being a recent geography graduate I have to admit nature is the main thing. I also love music, sport (especially volleyball), and photography so you can expect all sorts of designs really :D So enjoy and let me know what you think.
