Fireworks for New Year's Eve? Erm, Holo?!

What I can't understand is why do we celebrate New Year's Eve in such close proximity to Christmas. The fridge is STILL packed full of leftovers and it is very likely that I've gained a stone in the past week. Oh and I'm supposed to wear a bodycon dress tonight. Fantastic. 

OK so New Year's Eve might not be my thing but I tell you what is, fireworks! I might resemble a balloon tonight but at least my nails are 'fit' for the occasion;)

I swear I wanted to go for something absolutely ridiculous for today's Weekly Nail Art Challenge. Just about anything vaguely Christmas related was going to end up on my nails. But I'm afraid all the Christmas preparation and gift wrapping got the best of me and I couldn't face anymore festivities! What's happened, I became a Scrooge!

Winter Icicles

The weather has seriously been killing me recently. Yes, it's warm. In fact, it's been so warm I spotted a guy in shorts yesterday. Awesome, my question is: where is the bloody snow?! I just can't feel festive when the snow it's not here. So today I'm going on strike and I'm bringing the snow to you...or rather, the ice!

Pink Christmas

Have you found yourself thinking: why is her hand so tanned all of a sudden? Don't worry, I didn't have an unfortunate self tan incident. I mean, what, that would just be weird...I NEVER had one of those...<nervous laugh>. No seriously, the reason why my hand is browner than usual is because I made this manicure in July. See, a perfectly good explanation. And not weird AT ALL.

The prompt for today is stars and I kinda had this idea to do some form of gradient but the gradient gods were not watching over me...in fact, nail gods are completely blowing me off today! Blooming Flowers

Size Matters

There are literally no words to describe how excited I was to finally use my MoYou London festive plate. I swear I was subconsciously brewing some Christmas nail art ideas since June and most of them involved this plate. Last year I used it a lot and I was really looking forward to it this year. It was only when I actually got it out this morning that I discovered one *tiny* problem. Last year my nails were half the length of what they are now and this is not an XL plate....To all of you who are new to stamping it basically means the stamps are too small and don't cover my entire nail bed. Ugh, seriously?!

Fair Isle Inspired Nail Art

I was so happy when the recent issue of Nail It magazine finally landed on my door step a few days ago. As you can imagine it was mostly Christmas themed and since I am a Christmas freak, it was right up my street! Mani Swap

Ah the dreaded flowers! I can't tell you how many times I failed at this design. If you don't believe me, have a look at any of my feeds. You will find exactly ONE decent floral design. It won't surprise you then, that when the awesome @Nailmachine asked me to do a mani swap with her, I chose to recreate one of her floral manicures. I think I just love making life harder for myself!

A (Milky) Way To My Heart

Ok, here's my thing with galaxy nails. It's been done a million times and I was kinda over it. But then this one time, my boyfriend came from a trip to town with some food shopping, a new haircut and oh, a few Barry M polishes...?...?....?!?!?! Well, I'm not going to complain! One of them was a gorgeous limited edition Sparkling Amethyst and it was just begging for galaxy nails. So even though I've done it a few times before, here are some space nails!

Glamming up!

When I feel a bit poorly and just meh in general, a good pampering session can sort me right out. I'm sure a lot of you ladies out there would agree! A nice bath, face mask and a glass of wine should just about do it for me. Oh and a new design on my claws, obviously! To feel all glammed up I always reach for black and gold. To me these two colours put together are the epitome of glamour!

Autumn Quirk-Fest

Have you ever been mushroom picking? My house back home is at the edge of the forest and as a child I used to pick mushrooms pretty much every Autumn. I always make the effort to go home at that time so I can do just that and see my family. And of course, let's be real, it's low season so flights are dead cheap! HJ Manicure Review

I'm a genius! I finally figured out what to do during those nights you can't sleep because jetlag is killing you. Paint your nails! Ok, so it doesn't actually 'cure' jetlag but it's definitely a more enjoyable way to pass the time than laying in bed, tossing and turning. I have so many new polishes to try and today I want to show you this little trio from HJ Manicure.

HJ Manicure is a 5 free, vegan friendly and cruelty free brand. Their range of polish is gorgeous and I love the simple but sophisticated bottles. All the polishes have very long brushes which I am very happy about. I can't tell you how annoying it is to paint long nails with a short brush! I never have enough polish on and it always ends up a bit bumpy. Not a problem with this brand! One thing I'd point out is that you probably need a bit less polish then usual because the brush is so long you may pick up too much and flood your cuticles. Once you realise it though, there is no problem. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Major Trippin'

I'm having some major holiday blues. Someone take me back to New Zealand! I've been looking through the hundreds of pics I took and completely forgot I took a (very rushed) shot of the design I was rocking on my holidays! Hardly a gloomy matte(r)

This is one of those quick I'm-out-the-door-in-five kind of designs. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I liked it when I made it. It was delicate but 'gloomy', does that make sense? I think it works well as an Autumn design. However as I'm writing this I am in the most beautiful place on the planet and erm, Autumn-who? I've done these a few days before my trip. If you follow me on Instagram then you know I'm currently in New Zealand and although it's not been too warm so far the views are compensating BIG TIME. Also it's surprising how productive you can be during 12 hours long flights/waiting for your boyfriend to hire the car...

MoYou Halloween Contest: Forest Fright

Let me start by saying that when I bought my recent MoYou London Enchanted plate, I had a COMPLETELY different vision on how to use it. It all revolved around cuteness, soft pastel shades and lots of matte top coat. But then I spotted a 'Cute Halloween' contest...

It's October and you know what that means, Halloween is shoved in your face everywhere you go! I thought it'd be a good idea to carve a pumpkin this year because (prepare yourself) I've only done it ONCE before. Of course all the pumpkins are already gone in my local Morrisons. 31 Day Challenge: Delicate Print

For some time now I have been seriously digging the whole delicate nail art thing. It might remind you of spring in which case you'd be thinking that I have some serious issues. Let me explain! During this time of year for me it's all about knitted soft jumpers, fluffy socks, a cup of camomile/raspberry/mint/lemon (circle the appropriate) tea and snuggles on the sofa. Actually, scratch that last one. I'm currently sitting on the WORST sofa ever! I'm awaiting a delivery of a brand new one but until then, no snuggles...even sitting on it is fairly risky! So what could complement all of this? A nice delicate mani! Or a speedy delivery? Just a thought.

31 Day Challenge: Flowers

I don't know what possessed me but after my last less then ideal floral manicure, I'm at it again! I could have done stamping or water decals, but no, I had to make life harder for myself and attempted free hand yet again. This was inspired by the awesome Lacquer Style and of course it looks nothing like her design. But I was watching her tutorial very carefully and kind of managed to create a floral manicure that I actually like! Woohooo!

31 Day Challenge: Animal Print

For today's #31DC2015 I prepared something simple, a delicate (snow) leopard print. I had this idea of white-silver-grey animal print brewing in my head for a while. I tried a few different colour options but it just didn't work for me. I wanted it to be really soft. Unfortunatelly, I own only one grey polish so I had to get a bit crafty!
