December is filled with Christmas events of all kind, but this year I had the pleasure of being a part of arguably the most christmassy of them all. Rimmel London sure knows how to get us in the festive spirit!
The nail bar pop-up was held in Icetank, a venue in the heart of London. Although the venue was originally 'a blank canvas', it was transformed completely into a Christmas dream, with a real fireplace, gorgeous decorations everywhere and festive snacks and drinks.
It was a great day filled with Christmas tunes and of course, Christmas manicures. Me and four manicurists treated the guests to chic festive designs created by the lead manicurist, Emma Welsh. We used a range of Rimmel Super Gel nail polishes, including the 3 newest arrivals: Naughty or Nice (rose gold), Plum Pudding (deep purple) and Sexy Santa (a true red).
The first ever nail polish I bought was by Rimmel so it was really nice to remind myself how great this brand is. The brush is round and on the thicker side but it's quite narrow and it doesn't spread much when painting. The Super Gel range along with the Gel Top Coat (which comes in clear and glitter) creates a gel-like, glossy finish and can be removed with a nail polish remover. The formulas of all the colours I tested were excellent and for £6.99 per bottle you can't really go wrong! They are available from Superdrug, Boots and Amazon.
I couldn't resist a little festive nail art and I think we can all agree that the 'Plum Pudding' was simply begging to be recreated! A Christmas tartan is just a staple and I painted the stars using 'Basic B' and the Super Gel Glitter Top Coat to add a bit of delicate sparkle.
Merry Christmas everyone!
P.S. I still have that first Rimmel polish even though I bought it 10 years ago! It was a bronze shade and I want to say it was called something like, 'Jungle Princess' but don't take my word for it!
Love these!
