31 Day Challenge: Violet Nails

It's insane how much inspiration you can draw from a visit to an antiques fair. I went to my first one last month and I couldn't believe the amount (and types) of stuff you can get! I spent most of the day walking around, looking at beautiful pieces of jewellery which is what inspired this design.

My eyes kept being drawn to vintage clip on earrings with a 'cat's eye' like effect. Thankfully, I own a gel that does just that! I paired it with a metallic outline and simple black and gold nails. I have to say I like how this manicure turned out but let me tell you, I'm not that experienced in applying gel polish so not all went according to plan...

Is it possible to forget to use your magnet (that creates the cat's eye effect) BEFORE you shove your hand in your LED lamp? Sure, I mean it happens, right? Can you forget to do it 3 bloody times in a row?! No, that's just pure talent that is. So forgive me if I had one of my furious moments. Seriously, I've been doing so well!

Anyway! What do you think about my design? And how do you feel about gel polishes? I like them but I'm not sure it was the best idea when I know it needs to come off tomorrow! Xx

    Wow! That is a gorgeous design. I can't believe how perfect your gold outlining looks! I have used gel polish in the past, but my nails are kind of sensitive and it ruined them pretty quickly, so I don't use it anymore. Also I find that I get impatient and want to change my polish fairly frequently. I do like it for my toes, though- I don't tend to change the polish on them very often.
