Spring is in full swing (that is, if you ignore the weather) and that means it's time to dive into this seasons' new collections. Today we'll be looking at Leighton Denny's SS19 Wanderlust collection which promises six 'irresistible shades perfect for a luxury summer getaway'. Let's see!
Jet-setter
I was a little surprised to find a navy in a Spring/Summer collection but I think 'nautical' was the vibe that the brand was going for. Whether you're into dark shades for the season or not, Jet-setter* is a great polish, it feels very luxurious and the formula is easy to work with. Here I'm wearing two coats and a top coat.
On Cloud 9
I am definitely into off white, soft shades but unfortunately except for the colour On Cloud 9* just doesn't deliver. The formula is very watery and tricky to work with and even with three coats I think it looks a little patchy. Not what I've come to expect from the brand!
Private Beach
A great formula and a great colour! 'Private Beach*' is a muted coral, not very in your face but super elegant. Shown here in two coats and a top coat.
Wanderlust
Gold is said to be THE colour of the season and anything holographic is perfect for sunny days to catch the sparkle. I have a feeling Leighton Denny has hit the jackpot with 'Wanderlust'*! The formula is a little sheer but it's easy to work with. Here I'm wearing 3 coats and a top coat.
I'm in VIP
I'm in VIP*, although a very pretty nude, is unfortunately difficult to work with. It's got a slightly pinky hue and if it wasn't for 3 patchy coats I would have loved this shade.
Flight Club
My absolute favourite from the collection! I can definitely see the idea behind reinventing the classics because 'Flight Club'* is very similar to the iconic 'Provocative'. This is a slightly brighter and more creamy version and a little more on the warm side. The formula is spot on and here I'm wearing 2 coats, followed by a top coat. Love, love, love!
The collection is available from Leighton Denny's website at £12 per bottle or £10 if you buy four or more. I think the colours are very luxurious and and I'm definitely getting that VIP vibe! Have you tried any of the colours yet? What do you think?
