31 Day Challenge: Delicate Print

For some time now I have been seriously digging the whole delicate nail art thing. It might remind you of spring in which case you'd be thinking that I have some serious issues. Let me explain! During this time of year for me it's all about knitted soft jumpers, fluffy socks, a cup of camomile/raspberry/mint/lemon (circle the appropriate) tea and snuggles on the sofa. Actually, scratch that last one. I'm currently sitting on the WORST sofa ever! I'm awaiting a delivery of a brand new one but until then, no snuggles...even sitting on it is fairly risky! So what could complement all of this? A nice delicate mani! Or a speedy delivery? Just a thought.

A few days ago I received a parcel from bornprettystore.com and just couldn't wait to use all the goodies! Today I'd like to tell you about this feather stickers sheet*. Isn't it just gorgeous? I'm a sucker for feathers. I'm not brave enough to paint them but there are without a doubt my favourite design on nails. As today's 31 Day Challenge calls for delicate print this for me was a match made in heaven!

The feathers* come in a few colours. Some are bright, some muted and also quite a few are white. There are two different types of feathers and some round ones that could be...balls of fluff? Well, that's what they look like to me anyway! They are all decent sizes and some of the bigger ones I just trimmed to get the desired effect. They are very detailed and stick well. They look very soft and I absolutely love how this manicure turned out.

The one thing I'd like to stress is that if you're planning on using the same type and colours of feathers there probably won't be enough for both of your hands, even if you're using just one per nail. But there's nothing wrong with a colourful mani!

I was a little disappointed by the material they are made of, only because it doesn't go well with my nails. All the previous stickers I used from bornprettystore.com were labelled 3D and were made of this rubbery, stretchy material. It was great because my nails are curved and that meant I could stretch the sticker and make it smooth.  These were also labelled 3D but are rather flat and made of a slightly plasticy stuff. You can see here that the stickers creased a bit because my nails curve from side to side AND top to bottom. It's only visible from up close though, Of course, if you have nails that are slightly on a flatter side you shouldn't have any creases or problems with these feather stickers*

I had a cheeky haul yesterday, because, ya know, I only have like 536725262737362 polishes. But hold on, hold on with your judgements! There is a perfectly reasonable explanation. I was doing a restash some time ago and got rid of a few old polishes. Well, one of them was a light pink that I needed for this mani so I went to shop and bought one. But then it turned out it was on offer so I bought two other ones and then there was a sale....so I was meant to buy one but ended up with six. Sigh, ok, judge away!

As a base for this manicure I used NYC Spring in New York and  Williamburg Vintage (topped with Beauty UK Twinkle, Twinkle). I finished this look with HK Girl Glisten&Glow top coat. I love this manicure so much!

You can find these feather stickers* here and should you wish to purchase it, feel free to use my code SXL91 for 10% OFF at checkout. Remember that bornprettystore.com ships internationally for free!

Until tomorrow Xx
