31 Day Challenge: Violet

#31dc2015 #1234thumbwar drag marble paint drips nails

I'm a bit sad I'm technically missing today's prompt because violet (and all its shades) is my favourite colour! Unfortunately today I was out all day watching cricket. If you don't know what cricket is, trust me, you're not missing ANYTHING! Basically is a game where someone bowls, someone bats, someone runs and you score points. Oh, and it lasts all day. Brilliant. That's as much as I make out of it and I'm very comfortable with my minimal knowledge, thank you!

I came home late and couldn't make a design for today. Did I mention the game lasted ALL DAY? So I've decided to cheat for today's #31DC2015 and show you a design I did for Models Own #1234thumbwar competition but haven't shared with you yet. I wrote all about this competition here so check it out as you can still enter and the prize is pretty amazing!

What can I tell you about this design? It's pretty mental! There are paint drips and sparkle going on and some drag marble that I've never attempted before. All in all I like it, even if it is a bit crazy.

I painted drips using a nail polish brush and a large dotting tool. The drag marble was exciting to make and not as difficult as I thought. All I had to do was align some colourful dots in a straight line and drag a striping brush through the middle. I made three lines and dragged the brush from the top, bottom and top again for a bit of a mixed look because, ya know, this design wasn't mad enough.

I love this design but I feel bad! I promise I'll make a new design on Monday! See you then xx
