French Manicure with Mavala Optical Nail Whitener

How do you feel about a french manicure? I have to admit it's not really my thing. Mostly because it was the first 'nail art' I used to do on myself as a teenager. That was back in the Naughties and according to my very well hidden pictures just about EVERYTHING from that time was just a huge, ongoing cringe fest. I'm afraid to me, french nails were a part of it! Surely though, some pieces from the Naughties can make a come back? Preferably not my then-haircut. Don't even get me started on that.

Review | Winkel Nails

Today I want to show you a new nail polish brand on the block, Winkel Nails. As a nail polish addict I love trying new brands. What's made me want to give this one a go was that the polishes I'm about to show you are 5 free and cruelty free. What's not to like? For those of you who are not familliar with those terms, it means that the polishes are free from the 5 main toxins and are not tested on animals. I was kindly sent two shades of my choosing and another two extra so let's have a look!

This post is all about the nail art using all those treats! One thing that you notice on any red carpet event apart from the fashion is jewellery! Gems on dresses, studs and beads on purses and of course jaw dropping necklaces (I'm looking at you, Charlize Theron!). Have you seen Daisy Ridley's outfit for the Oscars? I absolutely loved all the gems on her dress so it won't surprise you that the nail art in this post is going to be very gem and stone inspired heavy.

31 Day Challenge: Green

You wouldn't believe how many green polishes I have and I don't even like green that much! I'm currently visiting home but I knew the 31 Day Challenge was coming up so, of course, I took green polish. ONE. GREEN. POLISH. Sigh, so as you can imagine this design isn't partically complicated but still, I love it! Ever since I've done French manicure a few weeks ago I've been dying to try it again.

French Manicure

Can you believe that the last time I attempted a french manicure I was 15? I can't quite believe that was 10 years ago. I went through a phase where I loved this design so much. My school didn't allow nail polish (or make up or hair dye) so I was perfecting my french manicure every day after school so that when the weekend came my nails were on point!

Starry night

On New Year's Eve everybody's eyes are fixed on the skies. No wonder, a starry sky on a (hopefully) cloudless night is an AMAZING sight...and you probably focus mostly on the fireworks. If that's the case you are seriously missing out! I was lucky enough to be raised in the countryside but now I live in a city and really miss the night views! I didn't really feel like party nails after all the Crimbo festivities so here is a pinky starry night design instead.
