31 Day Challenge: Inspired by supernatural & MoYou Nails Review

I am a bit gutted that today's 31 Day Challenge theme is 'supernatural' but I already (accidentally) did Pokemon nails yesterday. Bummer!

On a serious note, the supernatural prompt seemed like a perfect opportunity to test a stamping plate I received from MoYou Nails a few weeks ago. It features bats, spiders and skulls which are also perfect for upcoming Halloween. Let's have a look, shall we?

The image plate 308* is one of those full design plates which means it will fit most nail lengths and widths. I chose the crosses for my design but here I stamped a few different designs just to give you an idea of how well they transfer. These were my first attempts and as you can see the stamps came out very detailed. I used MoYou Nails yellow stamping polish* to pick the patterns up. It's a nice warm shade that I'm also wearing on my ring finger. I added a few studs from shesellsseashells.co.uk.

I was a bit worried that a light coloured stamping polish might not show on some colours so I decided to do a gradient as a base for my design. That way I can see whether the polish stamps well on light and dark colours. I used Sinful Pro Shine Show Off and CND Wisteria Haze which blended together really well. The only annoying thing is that they look a bit blue in the pictures when they're actually rather cool shades of violet. Grrrr!

I think the stamp worked really well on both colours. It's visible, opaque and you can see even the smallest details. It does exactly what a stamping polish should do!

I reviewed a different MoYou Nails image plate a few weeks ago that I found didn't perform as well as I'd like it to. I was kindly sent another plate of my choosing from a different collection that was supposed to have a deeper etching to make picking up a design easier. Well, it certainly did! I think this plate works really well and I didn't have any problems with it. Here is another look at the design I created.

What do you think? I really like it! If you like the look of the image plate 308 or the stamping polish you can find them at moyounails.com. You can also check out my review of other MoYou Nails products, including their stampers and plates, here.

See you tomorrow!

  1. What an interesting stamping plate. It is indeed perfect for Halloween. I like the color combination you made here and the way you placed the studs is very nice!

    1. Thank you! I don't know what I was trying to do with the studs but I just thought that shape worked haha! I wish I managed to photograph the gradient a bit better though, it's a bit more violet in real life, it looks a bit more 'Halloweeny' xx
