I was spoiled for choice today because there are about a million tutorials that I'd like to try out! I was in the mood for stamping so when I remembered the gorgeous nails I saw on Instagram by Sveta_Sanders I decided to give them a go!
It's the background that caught my eye in the first place. I'm a huge fan of colourful, marbled effect so this was right up my street. Basically, all you have to do is paint your nails white and apply a few strokes of different polishes at random. Easy peasy but so effective!
In the tutorial there was a delicate palm tree stamp used but I decided to go with swirls. It covers a lot of the background, much more than I expected it to, but I still like it! The stamp is from MoYou London Sailor 07 plate.
I also had another go at partial stamping because I finally found something that works amazingly for taping off a section without any leakage! Not to mention that I just hate when you wait forever for your top coat to dry, you apply a stencil and then remove it...along with your polish underneath. So annoying! This is probably not a massive discovery but I found that if you're not too bothered about your sections being EXACTLY the same width, a simple vinyl tape works wonders! You can get it in every hardware store and most supermarkets (I got mine from Wilko). It sticks really well but peels off like a dream!
What do you think? The colour combo is a bit funky, a bit 80s I think but I really like it!
See you tomorrow for the last #31DC2015 prompt! Time really flies when you're having fun...and when you lose it in my case! Xx
I love how the swirly texture peeks through the blue shade! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the layers! Really pretty and looks so complex!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It wasn't too complicated but the dying time was killing me even though I used a fast drying top coat haha ><
