I'm a genius! I finally figured out what to do during those nights you can't sleep because jetlag is killing you. Paint your nails! Ok, so it doesn't actually 'cure' jetlag but it's definitely a more enjoyable way to pass the time than laying in bed, tossing and turning. I have so many new polishes to try and today I want to show you this little trio from HJ Manicure.
HJ Manicure is a 5 free, vegan friendly and cruelty free brand. Their range of polish is gorgeous and I love the simple but sophisticated bottles. All the polishes have very long brushes which I am very happy about. I can't tell you how annoying it is to paint long nails with a short brush! I never have enough polish on and it always ends up a bit bumpy. Not a problem with this brand! One thing I'd point out is that you probably need a bit less polish then usual because the brush is so long you may pick up too much and flood your cuticles. Once you realise it though, there is no problem. Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Now this is a right beauty! It's called Alpine Green* and it's a dark polish with lots of emerald shimmer. It's my favourite of the three. The consistency is nice and as you apply the polish you can clearly see all the particles. It's not as opaque as the two cremes but it's perfect in two coats. In the picture I'm wearing two coats and no top coat. I love this colour so much I used it as a base for my recent nail art. Keep on reading to see the result!
Next up is Coco*. The consistency and opacity is very much like the Subzero* mentioned before. I really can't fault it. When I first saw this polish I wasn't too sure about the colour. I just didn't think it'd go well with my skin tone. It's such an unusual colour but once I saw it on my hand I fell in love with it. It reminds me of terracotta pots! It's a light chocolate with just a hint of pink.
Finally I decided to create a bit of nail art with all three polishes. I opted for something simple and 'grown up'. My boyfriend said that there was no way these polishes would go together but I think I might have just proved him wrong! I used single chevrons from shesellsseashells.co.uk to achieve this look. I loved this design so much and I was really sad to take it off. I had it on for 4 days, which is quite possibly a record for me, and it didn't chip whatsoever.
Check out the HJ Manicure website for the rest of their collection here. If you decide to make a purchase use the code FILER25 for 25% off your first order! The offer ends on the 30th of November. I have my eye on the Thunder Storm. I'm a sucker for purples and violets!
Thanks for reading! Xx
Wonderful polishes and an even more wonderful and beautiful nail art!
