Do you know what's the best day of the month? No, not pay day, it's when MeeBox lands on your door step! This time, the UK's favourite subscription box has an 80's vibe with funky bright polishes and sparkly nail art goodies. If you didn't get your hands on this one, you seriously missed out!
Nailberry Extravagant*
I was so excited to see a Nailberry polish in the box. I always wanted to try this brand and the fact that Extravagant* is a lovely warm shade of purple made things all the better! The application and formula were really nice and I needed 2 coats for full opacity. The bottle shape is quite important here as it's quite tall and tall bottle equals long brush/handle. The reason I'm mentioning this is that with these kind of bottles you need to be careful as you tend to pick up more product that can run down the brush and flood your cuticles. Not a cute look. In the picture I'm wearing a layer of top coat.
Lauren B Coral Canyon*
Orange, kill me now! Only joking;) As you may know I'm not particularly fond of this shade but this polish is bright without being in your face. It has that creaminess to it and I actually really like how it looks against my skin tone. Here I'm wearing 3 thin coats and a layer of top coat. The application point I made about the previous polish also applies to this one as the bottles are fairly similar.
Floss Gloss Wet*
Omg this polish! I'm really digging this funky bottle and the colour is just the best. Kinda like a minty turquoise which my camera didn't capture properly. It's a lot more juicy IRL. Here I'm wearing 2 easy coats and a top coat.
Charlies Nail Art Foil and Rhombus Nail Glitter
I wanted to try sequins and foil in forever so I was super excited about the nail art goodies in the Miami Nice box. The sequins are rhombus and change colour. Some are also see through. As you can imagine, they are a little flimsy but they stick well to a top coat and don't stick out. The foil is holographic because let's face it, everything holo is in and we all want on trend tips, don't we?

I'm not sure who thought of an idea of a crystal nail file but how did we cope without it? Ever since I started using it, I dread the idea of going back to emery board! The one I'm using now is actually a large version of this little guy! I've had if for about 2 years and it's still as good as new. You can wash it so it's always clean and it makes your filing jobs a lot quicker. And of course, you can go back and forth although I have to admit I don't. It's just a habit! Just make sure you don't drop it on your tiled floor because it will break. I'm so excited to have a spare file that I can pop in my bag for emergencies on the go. At least until my mother finds it!
I really wanted to do this distressed kind of design with foil on top for quite some time and I finally got my chance! This manicure was inspired by the super talented Paulina's Passions. All you have to do to get holo tips is to paint your nails and let them almost dry. Press the foil to your nails and rub it a little. If you press and rub and nothing happens there are 2 things that you should double check. First, make sure your polish is ALMOST dry, not rock hard. And another suggestion, make sure you're pressing the right side of the foil (non sparkly one). I'm just saying, but you know, it's not like I'VE ever done it...<nervous laugh>
The idea behind my next design was like a cross between a tie dye and a kaleidoscope. I'm not sure why it looks as if the sequins are sticking out but I think it's the reflection. I promise you, the final effect is super smooth and I got so many compliments on this design! Not sure how I feel about my favourite Glisten&Glow top coat betraying me though! Look at all those bubbles! :(
What did you think about this 80's inspired box? For me, the products go perfectly with the theme, as usual! This is my absolute favourite MeeBox edit to date. Makes me feel all summery! The next theme has just been announced and I have one word for you: PASTELS. Yes, please!
If you got to the end of this post, you looked at the swatches, perhaps you had a few giggles but then your're like, what's this whole MeeBox thing? The first thing you need to know is that we can't be friends until you get your priorities straight! MeeBox is a UK nail subscription box that brings you nail goodies every month inspired by a theme. And I don't mean boring crap like, oh Easter theme. Instead I'm talking some cool Rihanna inspired badass products or Gatsby glam nail essentials. Now, that's what I'm talking bout! Love your review, as always it's so fun to hear what you think. I do love this box, it's very pretty and although the colours aren't overly original (I have lots of similar shades), they're gorgeous. Love the nail arts you created!
