MeeBox Namaste | Swatches, Nail Art and Review

meebox-namaste-review.jpg

January is always about a new start, new challenges and goals. But why am I talking about it in Feb? Because this year MeeBox challenged us to sort our nails out with the pampering January Namaste box.

You can deal with pretty much any nail concerns with the contents of this nail subscription box. Dry cuticles? Use the cuticle balm. Brittle nails? Slap on that nail serum! And of course once your hands are in tip top shape, it's time for that perfect mani. All this and more below.

NAILBERRY STONE

A dark grey, opaque in 2 coats. Nailberry is a 12 (!) FREE, vegan and cruelty free. The polishes have a very long brush and handle so be careful not to overload them with product as it will flood your cuticles. Not a cute look.

ZOYA LAKE

I *think* this is a pale green shade but some (my boyfriend *eyeroll*) think it's blue. I'll leave it to you to decide! Anyway it's always nice to find a 10 FREE Zoya bottle in the box. This is 3 thin coats and a top coat.

CUCCIO CRUSH IN LAKE COMO

A very delicate subtle pink shade. It's perfect as a base for a french manicure or on its own for a 'healthy' look. Here I'm wearing 2 coats.

LEIGHTON DENNY HYDRA FLEX SERUM

I don't know about you but as soon as the weather turns cold, my nails and cuticles become really dehydrated. On top of that, I use hand sanitiser on a daily basis which isn't helping the situation. This hydrating serum fights brittle nails with the help of biotin and caffeine. The consistency is runny and non oily and absorbs really quickly. All you have to do is dispense a little amount directly onto clean nails and massage away. Love the idea of a bottle with a pump too!

CUCCIO NATURALE LEMONGRASS & LAVENDER BUTTER

Fun fact: I am obsessed with Cuccio body butter. My favourite is this one which I reviewed here. I really like that these butters are moisturising but absorb fast and don't leave a greasy residue. This one is no different. I was a little worried about the scent because I hate the artificial smell of lavender but this one is very delicate and the addition of lemongrass makes it smell divine.

THE VINTAGE COSMETIC COMPANY NAIL SCISSORS

These scissors from The Vintage Cosmetic Company are very sharp and are definitely a good tool to have in your kit, whether you want to nip a hangnail or cut a water decal. I love the rose gold finish but it has started to chip slightly on the blades.

SOAP DODGER CUTICLE BALM

I'm definitely an oil kinda girl when it comes to cuticle care. I find cuticle balms 'waxy' and you know what that means? Literally EVERYTHING sticks to it and drives me insane. Last time I tried a balm, instead of nourished cuticles I ended up with fluffy ones (do I sense a new nail art trend? Lolololol). As you can imagine my expectations were not particularly high for Soap Dodger cuticle balm but I was pleasantly surprised. The smell is a barely there sweet lemon candy and it absorbs really well and quickly into my skin. No waxy feel, no residue, no fluff.

DOODLE NAIL ART

I finally got myself some new brushes so I was eager to give them a go. I didn't really have a plan, I just wanted to doodle. Still, I think this goes pretty well with the zen-like theme! I'm pretty sure I spotted a similar looking wallpaper last time I went DIY shopping. I wonder if whoever said the inspiration can be found anywhere, ever thought of the decorating aisle in B&Q? :D

Since the Namaste box contained SEVEN luxurious and pampering products, if it doesn't get your hands and nails in shape, I don't know what will?! The selection of products went perfectly with the theme and I love that some were hand made and as natural as it gets in the current market. What did you think?
