Sweater Weather - Cable Knit Gel Nails

I haven't done any Christmas nails yet and the first week of December is already gone! All I can say in my defense is that this design started off as a festive one. Kind of.

I started with the green nails, I made some cute jumper patterns and I was thinking of matching them with just a simple matte red. Well, as you can see, there was a *slight* change of plan. I'm seriously questioning my sanity as I'm writing this but I just wasn't feeling the festive combo! So I used a warm yellow instead for a slightly more autumny look and finished it off with a matte top coat.

All the patterns are freehanded and sprinkled with acrylic powder to give them texture and a 3D effect. This really is not for the impatient ones but the good thing about gel polish is that you can keep wiping the design off until you get it right. Not that I did that or anything...<nervous laugh>
