31 Day Challenge: Rainbow Nails

The rainbow prompt sounds like a dream for a stripe lover, right? Unfortunately, my time management today has been appalling so I had to take a shortcut meaning no stripes. I'm so annoyed with myself!

VIDEO Nail Art Tutorials for Nail Spec

Hello there! Yeah, I'm still here. I've just been super busy preparing for my holidays and just about everything else so I had to have a little break from blogging. However I'm back with something quite exciting to show you. Over the past few months I've been trying my hand at video tutorials! I've done a few summer looks but my absolute favourite is this festival tie dye design.

Denim Nails for Nail Spec

If you look outside my window today you could totally believe you're in Spain. There's not a cloud in the sky and people are ACTUALLY wearing shorts. Makes you just want to get outside and explore! Or, if you're stuck indoors with flu, it makes you want to curse the unfair world, while you pop another antibiotic and settle down on the sofa with your trusted slanket.

Negative Space Nail Art for Nail Spec

To me, the negative space trend is designed to be worn during summer. It's almost as if you want to show a bit of naked nails just like you would uncover your legs on hot days! If I lived in a hot country, I'd probably wear this kind of design more often. But I live in England where 'summer' usually appears in a sentence starting with 'I remember 5 years ago we had a really lovely summer....'. So yeah, high temperatures may not be a given but alternatively you can just show the weather the finger and rock negative space nails anyway!

Twinkled T | Water Marble Scribbles Nail Art

Let's talk vinyls. I have to admit that vinyls and I have a love-hate realationship. I really like the different effects you can create but the fact that my nails are very curved makes it a bit complicated, not to mention, BLOODY ANNOYING! But recently I got myself a couple of vinyls from Twinkled T and I have to say I'm so happy with them! I used the scribble pattern to create this colourful design.

Bonkers

80's nails colourful doodle jazzy shapes

I honestly don't know what came over me when I was doing this design. I didn't have anything in mind, I just knew what colours I wanted to use and started doodling away! The thing with colourful, in your face kind of nails is that they're awesome...on someone else! I love this design, but maybe because it's so different, I feel a bit self-conscious wearing it. But what the hell, it's summer so I'm rocking these!

Confetti

The inspiration behind this design were those colourful decorations that you put on cakes. Then I thought of gradient, then pastels and this is the result, a mishmash!

Sun's out guns out

summer, bright, ombre, studs, stripes

I got this Essence The Gel nail polish ( 25 Prince Charming) because the colour is gorgeous and I was missing something like that in my collection. It's so summery and the weather back home is seriously hot so I thought, why not a holiday design, eh?

Spring pastels and holo. Erm..what?

Tell you what, I was in some sort of rebel heaven when I was making these! The typical spring pastels paired up with a bright red holo? Don't mind if I do!

Easter egg vol.2

I know, I know, not a very 'festive' design but it IS inspired by an Easter egg. I was looking through my stamping plates and couldn't believe I found a stamp that looked so much like this funky Easter egg design I found online! Check out the picture after the jump!

Glam Christmas

I think there is something very luxurious about matching black with gold. Black nail varnish is one of my favourites. I know a lot of people aka my entire family sees it as sad and morbid but I think it's very chic, especially when very glossy or paired with gold. I love all the 'typical' Christmas colours as you will see in the course of this month but recently I really wanted something glam on my nails. So I decided to incorporate black into my Christmas design and I must say I kinda like it!
