Tutorial | Nail the Matte Look featuring Swarovski Crystals

I can't help but reach for a matte top coat as soon as the weather turns a bit autumny. In the UK that started around June this year but hey, at least I had lots of time to practice! If you ever struggled to nail the matte look, I've put together a few tips to help you.

Gothic Halloween Nail Art

I couldn't really get in the spirit of Halloween this year. I think it must be the whole pumpkin thing. They are everywhere and they are orange and we all know how much I just LOVE that colour. So I decided to switch it up a bit and go for a gothic glam. Think long vintage necklaces and Morticia Addams' red claws!

Cuccio Colour Cruise Collection

The two shades I'm about to show you today are from this year's spring/summer Cuccio collection. Yes, I am aware it's autumn and the reds and purples are stealing the thunder but I actually like to reach for soft and nude shades this time of the year too. I picked these up at the Olympia Beauty Show a few weeks ago. Best. Decision. EVER!

Either my memory is failing me or I have never done an oriental manicure before. Until now! Today's 31 Day Challenge design is supposed to be 'inspired by a song' and I chose one of my all time favourites 'Walking on a Dream' by Empire of the Sun.

31 Day Challenge: Delicate Gradient

I've always wanted to do one of those delicate 'french' gradients, you know? They are so dainty and just go with everything. I wish this was my first idea for today's challenge because it would have saved me a lot of time and stress!

BPS | Qgirl-057 Stamping Plate

Today I want to share with you my thoughts on the Qgirl-057 stamping plate* I have recently received from Bornprettystore.com. There are four designs on the plate, two delicate florals and two slightly more crowded damask patterns. I don't actually own any plates with subtle patterns so I was really excited to try this one out. Although the round plates are usually quite small, all four stamps were big enough to cover my long nails.

Lace Over Metallic Gradient

Lace is the last Weekly Nail Art Challenge prompt for this month and I've decided to step out of my comfort zone. Ever since I've started this blog I have never incorporated a metallic silver polish. Even silver glitter only made an appearance a few times. I don't know why though, I have quite a few of them! I thought it was about time to change that.

Ruffian Design with Models Own Duo

The bright madness continues! I haven't done a ruffian design in ages so I came up with this vivid duo. I then proceeded to wear it to a job interview. It was appropriate for the position, I promise. But as a rule of thumb, try to avoid bright blue for any formal meetings!

Glitz n Glam

When you think about the fact that just last month most of us were all about red polish, one would assume it's the last colour you want to be reaching for in January. But when it's cold outside and you're starting to question whether you're JUST bloated post-Crimbo feast, you need something to cheer you up! And this Golden Rose red does exactly that for me.

For today's Weekly Nail Art Challenge 2015  my mind went blank! The prompt for today is stars and I kinda had this idea to do some form of gradient but the gradient gods were not watching over me...in fact, nail gods are completely blowing me off today! In moments like these, I wish I was home looking through my mum's nail polish stash. My mum is without a doubt a glitter queen. I don't think she owns a single bottle that doesn't have at least a dusting of glitter in it. I on the other hand have 3 glitter polishes. Clearly I was spoiled for choice for today's 31 Day Challenge...

French Manicure

Can you believe that the last time I attempted a french manicure I was 15? I can't quite believe that was 10 years ago. I went through a phase where I loved this design so much. My school didn't allow nail polish (or make up or hair dye) so I was perfecting my french manicure every day after school so that when the weekend came my nails were on point!

Sapphire Bling

I fancied something blue and then I saw a sapphire themed snapshot for Nail It! magazine and thought, why not? If you don't know what I'm talking about, Nail It! magazine features nail art designs in every issue. They come up with different themes and if they like your design you could be featured in the magazine! All you have to do is send a few details and a picture that matches the themes they are looking for. This time one of them was sapphire so I went for it. You never know, right?

Something sweet featuring BPS pearls review

I was super lucky when I went to my local Superdrug recently! They had a clearance section and most of it was nails stuff, yay! I obviously stocked up on all sorts because quite frankly no matter how many wraps, studs and stickers I may have, how can I not buy more if they are freaking 49p?!
