Olympics Video Tutorial: Negative Space Design

My flat has literally become a man cave. One could even assume there's NOTHING on TV other then the Olympics. Is it possible that a guy can like sports that much? I mean, every sport? It seems that my boyfriend does. Since I can't escape it, I decided to just go with it and I created a sporty negative space design using a few polishes from the Rio themed MeeBox (reviewed HERE).

Rio MeeBox: Swatches, Nail Art and Review

meebox ambassador review rio nail polish subscription box

Let me just put it out there that I am not the biggest sports fan. I have a few favourite disciplines and games that I like watching but I don't think I'll be plastered to the TV to watch the Olympic Games this summer. Although I'm sure the TV WILL be on because that's one of the perks (or not) of having a boyfriend! However, the one thing I love about the Olympics is the opening ceremony because I love how the hosting country's culture is implemented into it. But why am I talking about sport on a nail art blog?? Because the newest MeeBox edition is all about the Olympic Games in Rio! I think the theme is very clever (no surprise there!) because even if you're not a fan of sporting events, the colours in this box are perfect for a summer mani. Right, that's enough chatter, let's have a look at what's in the box!

ABC Challenge: D is for Decals

I felt like it was about time to change things up, so my pointy claws are back! Well, they're not quite 'claws' yet but they'll get there. I just seriously didn't trust myself with square nails as they were getting long. It was so easy to snap the corners and, for whatever reason, they were constantly peeling. Annoying or what?!

Leopard Half Moon for Nail Spec

Can you believe it's already February? I'm so glad January is over now! I thought January was supposed to about the hope and excitement for what's to come this year and all that stuff. Um, initially, perhaps. From where I was standing it was cold, my dry skin hated me and I still felt the need to turn the lights on at 1pm. Yes, a perfect time to give you that boost and hold on to your New Years resolutions. I know, I know, any more positivity and I might burst!

Ruffian Design with Models Own Duo

The bright madness continues! I haven't done a ruffian design in ages so I came up with this vivid duo. I then proceeded to wear it to a job interview. It was appropriate for the position, I promise. But as a rule of thumb, try to avoid bright blue for any formal meetings!

Anastazja Nail Water Wraps Review

Today I have a review of beautiful nail water wraps* from Anastazja.net. Let me start with a word of warning: this post is seriously, SERIOUSLY picture heavy. I couldn't help myself though, because I'm in love with all the nail art I've created with these water decals! First, a quick word about the company.

Orange Is The New Orange

Listen, I get it. I wanted winter weather and now it's freezing cold and it's supposed to snow next week. Yes, I wanted all that...FOR CHRISTMAS. Thanks a lot, jet stream. Right now I want to be thinking of cute summer outfits not winter coats! This is why for today's Weekly Nail Art Challenge I decided to go for bright happy shades in hope of summoning warm weather.

MoYou Halloween Contest: Forest Fright

Let me start by saying that when I bought my recent MoYou London Enchanted plate, I had a COMPLETELY different vision on how to use it. It all revolved around cuteness, soft pastel shades and lots of matte top coat. But then I spotted a 'Cute Halloween' contest...

There was no way I could say no to that! The competition is hosted by MoYou London and the idea behind it is simple: create nail art that's Halloweeny but cute. And let's face it, what can be cuter than tiny, fluffy forest friends? Exactly.

31 Day Challenge: Violet

#31dc2015 #1234thumbwar drag marble paint drips nails

I'm a bit sad I'm technically missing today's prompt because violet (and all its shades) is my favourite colour! Unfortunately today I was out all day watching cricket. If you don't know what cricket is, trust me, you're not missing ANYTHING! Basically is a game where someone bowls, someone bats, someone runs and you score points. Oh, and it lasts all day. Brilliant. That's as much as I make out of it and I'm very comfortable with my minimal knowledge, thank you!

31 Day Challenge: Yellow

Remember when I said that I wasn't going to try anything too complicated just yet for the 31 Day Challenge? Well, today I kind of did! The 3rd day's theme is yellow and I was more than happy to try out Nails Inc Seven Dials that I found in my recent Nalibox. It's a warm yellow, opaque in 2 thick coats. I really like the new brush that Nails Inc introduced. It's curved, not square and it's so much easier to get a perfect line around my cuticles. I added some rectangular studs I got from Amazon.co.uk.

I'm so beyond excited to tell you about the new Models Own competition on Instagram! It's called #1234thumbwar and the idea behind it is to get your creativity going. Get it right and there is a £150 Models Own goodie bag in it for you. You heard me, 150 quid! Excited yet?

Introducing: Mani Trippin'

I've just come back from a short trip to my boyfriend's family. You know when you're about to go away and there's a ton of things you need to do before? Like packing, emptying the fridge, getting the bins out and that sort of stuff. Packing that nice dress and oh look, it's stained, now you need to put the washing on. By the end of the day you're absolutely exhausted and all you want to do is sleep. Except, uh oh, you forgot to do a nice mani. Bollocks.

Practice makes perfect...right?!

nimbus studded bright mermaid nail art

I was looking through my designs the other day and I thought, I really need to try something new! I came across the Nimbus design by The Nailasaurus and just had to try it myself. I have to say it's harder than it looks! After a few ARRRGG's and UGGGHH's I decided that an accent nail would do for now...mainly because it was the only one that looked anything like the original! In the end though I covered it with a stamp because I think it needs more practicing before I show it to the world properly!

Bonkers

80's nails colourful doodle jazzy shapes

I honestly don't know what came over me when I was doing this design. I didn't have anything in mind, I just knew what colours I wanted to use and started doodling away! The thing with colourful, in your face kind of nails is that they're awesome...on someone else! I love this design, but maybe because it's so different, I feel a bit self-conscious wearing it. But what the hell, it's summer so I'm rocking these!

Skittles

neon chevron dots glitter skittles nail art

I have seriously broadened my horizons recently! I mean neons? Not really my thing, I always imagined they would be streaky, too 'in your face' kind of shades, not to mention I cannot be bothered with a white base! However I went to my local Superdrug and spotted a 3 for £5 deal on Miss Sporty polishes and thought...why not? :D

Sun's out guns out

summer, bright, ombre, studs, stripes

I got this Essence The Gel nail polish ( 25 Prince Charming) because the colour is gorgeous and I was missing something like that in my collection. It's so summery and the weather back home is seriously hot so I thought, why not a holiday design, eh?

New haul new design

One of the many things I like to do when I go home is scour for nail polishes. I find that varnishes abroad are so much cheaper so I never miss a chance to top up my ever growing collection! This time I got this gorgeous pastel purple (amongst many others) which is very similar to Rimmel Mary Mary Quite Contrary, just a tiny bit more purple. I've run out while I was here so I was on the look out for something similar.

Spring pastels and holo. Erm..what?

Tell you what, I was in some sort of rebel heaven when I was making these! The typical spring pastels paired up with a bright red holo? Don't mind if I do!

Stepping out of my comfort zone!

Surprisingly for such a simple nail art, the varnish list seems to be endless!
