How to: Decals on the Uber Chic Mat

I have recently realised I am super behind with so many reviews so today's post will feature some stencils that Born Pretty Store sent me about 5 thousand years ago. They are meant to be applied directly onto the nail but I decided to try it out with my Uber Chic Mat and create decals. It was so much easier than I thought it would be! I also added a little step by step guide. I explain it all below.

VIDEO Nail Art Tutorials for Nail Spec

Hello there! Yeah, I'm still here. I've just been super busy preparing for my holidays and just about everything else so I had to have a little break from blogging. However I'm back with something quite exciting to show you. Over the past few months I've been trying my hand at video tutorials! I've done a few summer looks but my absolute favourite is this festival tie dye design.

Mixed Metallics for Nail Spec

The Sun might be out and warmer days are coming (here's hoping!) but that doesn't change the fact that sometimes you might not want the weather to dictate what shade of polish to put on. I know, shocker! What if the world says 'Spring' equals 'pastels' but you just really want to show the world the finger and rock some black nails with metallic accents? Well, what can I say, you've come to the right place!

Tribal Design Featuring BPS Water Decals

It's been a bit quiet here recently but trust me when I say I've not been doing sweet bugger all! I have been playing around with water decals because I am absolutely obsessed! I think a lot of girls find them boring but I found that it's ridiculous just how many looks you can create with even the simplest water decals. I'll be sharing them with you soon but for now here is a tribal design I've done using water decals*  from bornprettystore.com.

Paisley Design for Nail Spec

There are a few things I never thought I'd be doing and a free hand paisley design would definitely be up there. I'm sure that's what stamping plates were invented for in the first place. I mean, seriously who's got the time for that?! This girl, apparently.

Santa Comes from Polishville. Fact.

I swear I wanted to go for something absolutely ridiculous for today's Weekly Nail Art Challenge. Just about anything vaguely Christmas related was going to end up on my nails. But I'm afraid all the Christmas preparation and gift wrapping got the best of me and I couldn't face anymore festivities! What's happened, I became a Scrooge!

December Mix

I am a big fan of the design I'm about to show you. It's simple but I feel like it combines winter, snowflake and even Christmas themes. And let's just all take a minute to stare at the sparkle!

Size Matters

There are literally no words to describe how excited I was to finally use my MoYou London festive plate. I swear I was subconsciously brewing some Christmas nail art ideas since June and most of them involved this plate. Last year I used it a lot and I was really looking forward to it this year. It was only when I actually got it out this morning that I discovered one *tiny* problem. Last year my nails were half the length of what they are now and this is not an XL plate....To all of you who are new to stamping it basically means the stamps are too small and don't cover my entire nail bed. Ugh, seriously?!

Born Pretty Store Water Decals Review

Sometimes I like to stick to the current trends and do themed designs. A good example would be Christmas. It's coming soon and I will bombard you with festive designs, so prepare yourself! But today is not that day...yet:p. In the meantime, how about some pastel green nails?

31 Day Challenge: Inspired by a pattern

If you follow this blog then you know that I was expecting a sofa delivery for, like, forever. The day has finally come. The sofa is here! Woo! I'm already snuggled up on it with my fluffy blanket. That made me think of comfy oversized jumpers and this is what inspired the pattern for today's 31 Day Challenge.

There's always an alternative!

Believe it or not, this manicure was supposed to be a delicate picnic blanket kind of design. Erm... well something clearly didn't go to plan!

Waving bye bye

wave watercolour studs purple pink gradient nails

Before I started this blog my nails were never long. And I don't mean they were just short. There was nothing there, no free edge, nothing, because I used to bite my nails. Naughty! Now my nails are so long I wake up with them digging into my palms! Or I was.

Easter Eggs

Or Easter Pisanki as we used to call it at home. If you don't know what a pisanka is, it is basically a painted or in any other way decorated Easter egg. My aunt used to use wax and food colouring to create these gorgeous patterns and colours and this was my inspiration for this design!

Born Pretty Store Mixed Arabesque Stamping Plate Review

Today I'd like to review this funky mixed arabesque stamping plate provided to me as a free sample from Bornprettystore.com. My inspiration for this design were drawings I saw when I visited Capitol Reef National Park, UT, which btw is a beautiful part of the world that I really want to see again!
